Well I went, but we did not see all that much last Sunday. Loads of Linnets on the fields at Flam.Head. Gannets all over the place. One few past at about 50ft. very nice. 3 RT Divers flew by as well. Filey Brig did not deliver much apart from a Turnstone and a Purple Sandpiper.
We did better at the little NR nearby. Redshank/Greenshank/Lapwings/Common Sandpiper and a lot of the usual stuff.
My mate said Birdquides reported lots of stuff flying around this week.
Anyone who lives in the Stockport area might like to look up Stockport Birdwatching Society. In addition to regular evening talks they regularly run coach trips to various hot spots. This weekend they're off to Flamborough and Filey. Early October to Spurn November and very early December trips are planned. Bit late for this weekend but it's decent value for money.
I am tagging along with the High Peak RSPB on Sunday in a mates car. Hope I see some Divers and other stuff, as I have to say, I would not go as far as the car keys to look at a gull
Well as it happens it could be Norfolk or Spurn and i didnt actually say which day it will be, what about if i say im going on Saturday but dont actually go till sunday, then when the usual mega turns up at Elton on saturday expecting me to be out of county i actually wont be and i might actually see it!!

Of course you've just gone and broken the first rule of self-finding Warfy Never let others know when or where you think the birds will turn up and never let others know where you'll be going to find them, otherwise every man and his dog will be there and find all the goodies before you I spend a significant amount of time out of county searching for rares and scarce (with no luck the vast majority of the time I might add) and no one ever knows about it
That said, in my persuit and to increase my chances, if anyone has a spare seat in the car (or boot, roof rack or engine bay come to mind) and is trekking over to the east coast over the autumn, I'm always up for a trip if I'm available and for splitting the petrol costs. Weekends are a bit of a non-starter though as I'll be busy getting my head kicked in by bigger boys on the rugby pitch. Lovely
You should have asked this question on Tuesday, Paul and I went yesterday. Spent a while looking for the Hulme's Warbler and had given up when some told us to go to the wardens office as they'd netted it and would be ringing.
Very good views before they took it to be released. Thanks to Warfy for the texts. You can't keep a legend down!
Then found single black tern at North Cave on the way home.

The weather over the next few days looks extremely promising for drifting central european migrants over to the UK and more specifically the east coast. Anyone planning a day to Spurn etc? A poorly car means I'm looking for a seat across there
