RE: large raptor

Unfortunately Craig, mystery birds such as these cannot be answered. It could have been anything from a Buzzard, Kite, Harrier to Eagle and all sorts in between. Better to put such occurrences down to experience and forget about them, we all get them but attempting to resolve them from such views will only frustrate you

tuesday or wednesday large raptor high in sky being mobbed by smaller bird over carrbrook in stalybridge.
smaller bird may have been jackdaw, sparrowhawk or peregrine but with the naked eye could not tell type.
the raptor had fingers at ends of wings and never flapped,
glided away very fast north towards uppermill.
anybody see something like this? any reports of escaped birds from bird of prey centres?
