Mike,sheer determination dragged me to the moors this morning looking for dotterel,I,d love to find one for myself,the erratic nature of the sightings of this bird in gm make it hard to judge if the wind farms have any effect or not.My guess would be not,I think it,s down to pure luck if they are found or not,in that huge area
I have not seen any Dotterel on Whittle Pike for the past 3 years since the start of the wind farm. I have only been up a couple of times each Spring but wondered if any one had seen them. This used to be a historic trip site with doiuble figure birds only a decade ago.
