There is a big article plus photo in Manchester evening news today and they are still quoting Amberswood lake and are quoting a RSPCA officer plus a witness to certain events. Penalties for this type of thing should be more severe.

This may be just a rumour. There are no swans nesting at Amberswood, definitely, and never have been this year. The 2 pairs nearby are both OK (though you wouldn't call either of them as being at Amberswood).Neither my swanwatchers there who practically live on site, I nor the RSPCA know anything about this.
Sadly there will be some truth in it - they'll just have got the site wrong.
