absolutely Ian, as Mr Heaton would say for all things of the fluffy and flowery nature the Manchester Wildlife website is the place for it, a re vamp behind the scenes is taking place and the GM Mammal list, information on GM Bats and other info on mammal will all be uploaded, not to mention more info on plants, fungi, reptiles, amphibians........
For everything to do with wildlife in the county other than birds, we are more than adequately catered for thanks to the manchesterwildlife.com website and forum, who would really appreciate any of your sightings.
I know this is meant to be for general birding discussion, but on my travels about the County I come across various mammals, from Dunham Massey's Fallow Deer to the odd stoat and weasel flying across a path, water shrews near the irwell and local foxes etc etc.
What prompted me to put this posting on was coming across a female Roe Deer in Heaton Park while doing my WeBS count there a few weeks back. I have also seen them at Ringley, but wondered what else might be out there that has surprised people, or perhaps just brightened up a birding day out?
I'm not experting anyone to have found GM's own Big Cat, but possibly some good spots to observe other mammals such as water vole, badgers etc..........
