Could I just ask everyone to put the areas of Waxwing sightings on each post please.
This enables anyone not having read previous posts to still know what areas they relate to and not have to either trawl back through the thread or indeed start checking google maps!
The 7 Waxwing were still in Buckfield Avenue when I left at 2.15, but it was a pity that the light was so poor. There were still plenty of berries but there was a group of Redwing and Fieldfare actively feeding on the berries. No problems parking on West Park Street

Having searched Chimney Pots and Gartside yesterday without luck I tried Ordsall today. At Gartside a few berries left but had workmen under the trees so not promising during working hours.
Success in Ordsall.
7 waxwing on a tree on the corner of Buckfield Avenue and West Park Street at 12 pm today. Trees on Buckfield Avenue still loaded with berries so may be around a while. Chris
5 Waxwings at Gartside Gardens at 11.15, perched up on the alders there https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S51457841 but disturbed by workers, still lots of berries there so they may return, also female Blackcap and 18 Redwings there at 12.42 on my way back from Redgate on foot: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S51458765

Andrew Emerson had 2 at Gartside Gardens at dawn yesterday morning https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S51492950 but other folks checked afterwards and they weren't present, likely because of ongoing work...
Pretty sure I heard waxwings around the bus station in Hyde at lunch. Checked the trees but didn't see anything, and forgot to double check on my way back to work. Will try to remember to check again tomorrow.
First heard in the bushes on the north side of the motorway, I saw around half a dozen birds fly to the bus station as I crossed the footbridge, then heard them again but couldn't spot them in the trees

2 on Wigan Lane on Jan 2nd and 2 at Hardebutts, Wigan also on 2nd Jan, with 3 at the latter site on the 3rd along with an impressive 85 Redwing feeding in trees.
The waxwings were in the same rowan tree at MMU at about 12:10 or so before being scared off, along with the redwings. The waxwings then flew west towards Hulme Garden Centre but we couldn't re-locate them despite searching the local area.
Most of the berries on these rowan trees have now been eaten, but there are a few others around the city centre to keep any eye on e.g the trees near the Renault garage on Trinity Read, Salford.
Not a sighting but Ive just noticed a number of Sorbus trees absolutely dripping with berries opposite Kickair on A56 Great Ducie Street near the MEN arena. There were a few Redwing around the area. Id be amazed if the berries dont attract a few Waxwings soon. Well worth keeping an eye on the area. Seems very promising.
For access to the 12 Waxwing in Hulme (at MMU Birley Fields) there is ample parking at Hulme Asda / Retail Park, cross the road and walk down Archway (or Phoenix Way) to meet the footbridge. The Rowan berries are on the left before you meet Princess Road.
Just noticed on Birdguides -12 at m/c met uni at SJ837 967
These are on the Birley Fields Campus on rowans by the pedestrian bridge over Princess Rd with 130 Redwings https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S51288928 I had 2 Peregrines there an hour or so earlier - https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S51288529 and Pete Hines had a Fieldfare subsequently.
Info from yesterday via twitter plus another source "Dozen waxwings feeding with 100+ redwings on the rowan trees by footbridge at MMU Hulme. They're hanging out in popular trees on Mancunian Way " postcode for location is M16 6GS
Single waxwing on and around small Sorbus tree in front garden of 17/ 19 Stanley road,Old Trafford (cheers Steve).
It perches on the Sycamores at rear of Tollgate pub then flies down to a Cherry tree adjacent Slc 4 and then onto the Sorbus tree with orange berries .

1 waxwing perched in tree next to the tollgate inn, old trafford at 12.35 whilst on my way to work, I turned around & parked briefly in the pub car park where it then flew into berry tree on Stanley Road.
At approximately 2pm for two days running there have been 7 or 8 Waxwings flying into Chimney Pot Park in Salford and briefly visiting my friends Rowan tree in his garden adjacent to the park as its the only one still full of berry's in the area. They seem to fly in from the direction of South Langworthy Rd and head off towards Seedley when finished.
Still present at Hattersley C11.15am on the trees by the side of the petrol station opposite the library. Flitting between them and the large tree at the complex entrance.
1 Waxwing at 3:15-3:20 at least this afternoon on Wigan Lane, Wigan. Perched up and calling with c20 Redwing and several Starling at the front of Mabs Cross Primary School (still plenty of berries on Rowans opposite).
Just seen a Waxwing report on Twitter (WaxwingsUK) for 24th Nov on Melrose Cres., Hale, Mcr - house number 37 i think.

Correction, after reviewing images supplied by the finder, would suggest a mistaken identification, looks like the bird in question was actually a Jay.
Single Waxwing, Audenshaw @15:10 today, location is a Primary school car park,so won't give exact location due to the school does not wish uninvited visitors on School grounds whilst pupils are present.
Pete,
I presume Bohemian and not Cedar? A bizzarre sighting in any case.
Evening Andy, undetermined, no photos were able to be taken, definitely out of place and time of year.

A flock of 40 were up in two tall trees between Fairfax Ave, Didsbury and the flats on Wilmslow Road. Seemed to be feeding on buds and happily settled, but suddenly all took off S.
19.15
Flock of 10 in a tree at junction of Park Road and Windsor Ave in Gatley.
Feeding for 5 minutes then flew north
Heard more birds (presumably the same flock) on Patterdale Road in Northenden about 10 minutes later.

I came out of work on church road, Bolton this afternoon and heard the trill that I instantly recognised. There were about 20 waxwings in the tree opposite my works. I was surprised as I thought they would be on the move back to Scandinavia. Does anyone know the latest date they have been seen in Greater Manchester in previous years?
The last of a large flock by Orrell Water Park in 2013 were seen on 8th May

Again 9 @ 11:10 this am within the grounds of the old Stockport infirmary A6/Railway Road, we've hung Apple's up hopeing to keep them coming back, very flighty at the moment due to gardening work being carried out.
I saw these this morning as I was travelling on the bus. I tried to post but the Stagecoach and later TP bus blocked the site. Has anyone else had this problem? does the filter consider our "birds" to be non feathered?
So many Waxwings in Stockport this winter and spring. Marvellous.
