RE: Black Redstart

My informant, who to save him embarrassment, shall remain nameless, got this tale wrong. He gave me the name of the lady who had seen this bird, so I rang her. It turned out that it was August when she saw this bird, not in the last few days! She saw it in the area where the young were being fed at the station, from the metro train.
So, panic over, folks.

Equally wierd, I dismissed a possibly fly by two days ago from my 10th floor window, the bird having come from near the back of Kendals.

I'll try and have a wander at lunchtime.

That's wierd, Judith - I thought I heard a bird calling the other day near the nest site and thought "no it can't be"...

I have received an indirect report of a Black Redstart 2-3 days ago in Victoria Station, near the Metrolink line. (More details to follow). This is where they were feeding when they bred on Federation Street this year, and they do occasionally winter. If anyone is using Victoria Station, please keep an eye out for this bird.
