A trip to the Wirral yesterday (IMF - f Marsh Harrier and Greenshank the main events) and then S. Dee estuary coast ending at Point of Ayr where I met with some disappointment. Still 1,000s of Oystercatchers, Curlews, Redshank on the high tide roost along with 13 Little Egrets providing a great spectacle but some scrotes have destroyed the hide ripping off the entire front and rendering it useless - surprised they didn't finish the job and burn it down as usual. This was a great spot for hunkering down for high tide especially with a good blow and skuas chasing terns.
200 Sandwich Terns on the beach further towards Gronant but beaten back by the rain before I got to say hello to the Little Terns. It's a lot shorter walk to the tern colony from the Gronant rather than Talacre end.
