Green Sandpiper 1. Super shy, as usual. I managed a couple of distant record shots before it flew towards the Sale Sewage Works pool. Possibly the returning bird from last winter with the red ring on the left tibia which had been ringed at Woolsten Eyes.

Flushed a Woodcock off the old tip this morning , Teal numbers high Goldeneye x2 Mandarin x3  several Chiffhaffs singing around Banky meadow Willow tit and Reed bunting .

Goosanders 3 pair,  one pair confirmed copulating and a single male all on stretch on Mersey between Ashton on mersey golf club and the green bridge at carrington spur 

Kingfisher, Pied and Grey wagtail along river ,  GS woodpecker drumming on kickerty brook and Several Rooks repairing nests in Rookery ..

Good numbers of song birds in full voice ..

3 egrets, almost certainly Little though they looked alarmingly large at one point but I was travelling in a rapidly moving vehicle, flew fairly low NE together over the Carrington Spur at 9am this morning, heading the the direction of Sale WP/Broad Ees Dole.
