Great news Judith. I've not seen any Peregrines in town for over 2 weeks. I have a quick look every day on my break and dinner time. I can only view a small area and the time window is small so it doesn't mean they're not around. Hope the tray is succesfull.
I am pleased to be able to announce that a Peregrine nest tray has been affixed on the clock tower at Bolton Town Hall today, thanks to our honorary steeplejack Colin Brooks, with help from Ken Haydock, Jill Mills and myself (what a climb up those stairs with all that pea gravel!). It is on the N side of the clock tower, but is NOT visible from below due to the height of the building. This project has been funded by the Greater Manchester Bird Recording Group. It may be too late for occupation this year, although a pair of birds has been about; however a Raven was circling around this morning! Thanks to Chris Quinn, facilities manager at Bolton Town Hall, and Dave Patterson, buildings manager, for their help in bringing this project to fruition, and especially to Colin for once again giving his time and skills. All we need now is the birds...
