There was a farmer afew years ago that helped feed a single buzzard by putting out animal carcases over the winter. since then this bird has paired up and reared young in the same area around the boothstown farms.

I've noticed Buzzards on the interchange between A580 and M60 (eastbound) in the early spring 2007 and suspect they may be breeding at Linnyshaw or Wardley - both areas have private woodlands.

two buzzards,one very pale plumage[ could be young bird] sat in field next to m61 motorway,just before foot bridge goes over the m61 traveling towards wigan.
today at 1250 pm,and seen here on regular basis.possibly descend from breeding pair off boothstown farmland.
