The 2007 report is nearly complete and will be at the printer's on September 25th (with or without one particular article I'm waiting for!) It should be ready by the time I get back from Scilly on Oct 25th. The reason it is late is because a vast amount of data from the Winter Atlas, covering Nov-Dec 2007, could not be supplied by the BTO until the end of June, and whereas normally I start writing it in May, this year I couldn't begin until the end of July.
This situation is likely to be the same in every year while the Atlas in ongoing - ie till 2011.
Steve Suttill arranges the printing, and if he gets the report back before I come back from Scilly, people will be able to pick copies up from MARC, 28 Edge St, Manchester city centre - I'm sure he will post on here if so.

I do recall a conversation with Judith Smith a few weeks ago, apparently due to the late submission of some information and reports etc the 2007 was going to be later this year perhaps as late as the end of October, but dont hold me to that date.

Keep birding

How's the 2007 report going? Aren't they usually published at about this time of year?

Just for the record, my last copy of 2006 has now gone. So unless there are any left at Stockport Bins, Martin Mere or Mersey Valley this is now out of print.

Just read this thread after a web-free Xmas break. Thanks for volunteering me Judith - I'm happy to do some report copying!

I have a spare 1977 report if anyone wants it - weren't they thin in those pre-computer days?

Happy New Year to All!

Steve

Yes, I have the complete set back to 1959, though several of the 1960s ones are faint as produced on a duplicator (anyone under about 40 won't remember those!). Also, those in the 60s weren't necessarily arranged under Voous order but used headings like "Migrants" or "Residents".
I also have the proofs (I think!) for any editions since 1992 that I have produced - one or two are out of print now.

That sounds like an excellent idea Judith. I would be happy to pay for the cost of photocopying. Do you have the reports prior to 1970? As I would be interested in these as well. I believe that MOS published its first report in 1959.

I obviously have a complete set of reports. I know some years are unobtainable, and have had a chat with Paul Heaton about this. If there is enough interest, I could ask Steve Suttill (who works at MARC printers) to photocopy the ones in short supply. Paul has kindly offered to co-ordinate requests and years (given I am not contactable regularly by email just at present due to mum's illness requiring me to live over in Summerseat some of the time).

I do apologise Paul. It was not my intention to queue jump! In the event that anyone does have these rare editions surplus to requirements first refusal will of course go to you.

Hi Paul,
Unfortunately I don't have any spare copies of the old reports but am also looking for a copy of of reports from 1970, 1972 and 1981. If anyone has a copy of these please get in touch. As well as paying money I'll show you where to find Woodcock at Watergrove!

Cheers

Have recently come across a small supply of old reports for the county all in very good nick and at an excellent price, in total we have about 4 sets of 13 reports dates as follows;
1974 1975 1979 1983 1984 1986 1987 1988 1990 1993 1997 1998 1999, these sets are on offer for £7.00 cannnot complain at that can you anyone interested let me know,

Also if anyone has the missing years and wants some hard cash for them willing to come to some agreement very interested in the old Manchester Ornithological society reports, these were the ones prior to 1976 when the Birds in Greater Manchester started.
keep birding.
