RE: Salford Birds

11,30am.  I was walking down Alpha Street and heard a wren screaming for its life, so I turned around to see it being pursued by this adult male sparrowhawk. The wren escaped by hiding in the scrub, and the sparrowhawk was so transfixed on its position that it didn't even notice I was stood 5 feet from it.  I took this shot on my mobile phone! As it was the only thing I had on me.  I'm sure all the wildlife photographers on here feel my pain no

Today my daily dog walk around Buile Hill Park produced a pair of Coal Tits.. I can't recall ever seeing this species in the park before? Also the past week there has been a high number of Nuthatch's active throughout the park along with the resident Great spotted Woodpeckers drumming and courting. Plus a small flock of Redwings still present too.

At 12.35pm this afternoon there were two Peregrines, a Kestrel and over 30 nervous Starlings all perched on the Liverpool street gasometers. The Kestrel eventually went off hunting over the EMR scrap yard. There was still a single Peregrine perched on the gasometer later at 15.10.
