Just to clarify the post below..

I thought they couldnt fly .. obviously I know they can, I meant I thought the zoo ones were possibly clipped and flightless.

Sunday.
Trip to Blackpool Zoo.

- Chiffchaff and Blackcap around the whole zoo
- 5/6 Ring-necked Parakeets near Wolf enclosure
- Barnacle Geese breeding all over the zoo. I thought they couldnt fly but plenty doing just that

glad you went to see them rob, when I was there 1 of the purple sandpipers was sat on the go-karting track wall about 15 yards away with the turnstones.
also plenty common scoter far out, but a few closer in.

Single Velvet Scoter in a group of c30 Common Scoter at 08:00hrs this morning just south of Central Pier

Seen on a little ramble from Fleetwood Ferry to the Pleasure Beach...ooh my feet!

Eider 10m 1f
Cormorant 5
Oystercatcher 10+
Turnstone 50+...some very tame.
Ringed Plover 15+
Sanderling 60+
Skylark 1 singing near Rossall School.
Pink-footed Geese 80+ heading North.
Mediterranean Gull 1 adult just off shore adjacent to the Venue Pub, Cleveleys.
Redshank 60+
Black-headed Gulls
Herring Gulls
Lesser Black-backed Gulls

From go karting track @ The Gynn
2 Purple Sandpipers
1 Common Scoter
1 Great Crested Grebe
12 Eider in two groups ( one group consisting of 1F followed by 6m)
1 Ringed Plover
Turnstones
Redshank
Oystercatcher
Good numbers of 'common' gull species including one perfect Great Black Backed Gull

Pick Footed Geese
Linnets
Curlew
Gray Plover

loads of all the usual waders etc
