Nothing outstanding the last week or two but things picking up in last few days, highlights include;
SISKIN - 1 north west this morning - patch tick HOUSE SPARROW - 1 male on the 21st - patch tick Yellow Wagtail - 1 south on the 21st Meadow Pipit - 200 on south dam wall on the 21st with 50+ today and similar numbers last few days. Goosander - 76 on the 21st and 87 today. Canada Goose - spot on 200 today. Lapwing - 104 today. Wheatear - 1 on 21st.
but the main highlight was tonight as a Noctule Bat (first for the site) was seen by myself and Kevin Lister. was remarkable watching this, what was more remarkable was watching a Merlin appear from nowhere and twice attempt to kill it!!!! Merlin got bored and carried on its way through, bat lived for another day!
