I've just had an email from Halifax Bird Club (in my capacity as Sec. to ACRE- Assn of County Recorders and Editors) saying that a hide owned by Bradford OS at Ringstone Resr (Yorkshire Water) in Calderdale Borough has been assessed for rates at £70 per annum !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this idea takes off I can see us rapidly having no hides left. I guess the council have got the idea due to all these smoking shelters that the pubs are all applying to build.
