Dipper showing well this morning, seen twice Sparrowhawk came through, scattered all pigeons from surrounding mills and chimney. 2 Grey Wagtails 2 possibly 3 Jays seen flying over our site throughout the day. 3 Redwing over
Yesterday mid morning from Adelphi bridge to Cromwell Rd:
6 Tufted Duck females - the first here of autumn 3 Goosander redhead 6 Little Grebes including one with a small chick Kingfisher sighted several times 11 Meadow Pipits flying over south east
Quick evening visit near meadows and and Peel Park:
4 Coots - family party including 2 almost fully grown fledglings 2 pairs Little grebes Great spotted woodpecker first seen for a while here 3 Mute Swans flying over 12 House martins Long-tailed Tit flocks
Adelphi bridge to Cromwell Rd Saturday 22nd afternoon:
1 Kingfisher flew past 3 Grey wagtails 1 Kestrel not seen here for a long time 30+ Goldfinches in the meadows, largest flock seen this autumn 100+ Black-headed gulls at Boniface bridge
Very little to report these last 4 days, Grey Wagtails seen everyday, Kingfisher seen yesterday, Grey Heron present on Wednesday. Still a few Sand Martin about along with Swift.
Dipper and Kingfiser seen everyday this week, Dipper been very active especially this week with the high river water. Grey Wagtails seen Tuesday and today. Sand Martin and Swallow seen everyday with Swift. Grey Heron seen today only.
Unfortunately I've seen Mink this week. Singles seen Monday and Wednesday and two seen today.
