Water Rail has been present and showing very well all week. It is by the second inflow to the brook (with a small fence) about 200 metres downstream from footbridge near to Woodheys Park. Sorry for late info but this is first chance to use my PC this week.

Today:

Kingfisher 2
Stonchat 2 - 1 Male, 1 Female
Kestrel 1
Heron 1
Grey wagtail 1

Sadly no waders, perhaps due to the large amout of heavy machinery moving about on the far bank

The Brook has been realigned here in an environmentally-friendly way. I was given some photos of it at the last Trafford AfN meeting. Apparently the EA are bringing people to look at it as an example of how to do this, to prevent flooding etc. It looked really good for winter Snipe/Jack Snipe and Green Sandpiper, as there will still be plenty of bare-ish ground.
