hi dean-didn't arrive until 4pm,must have followed you round,i tried to take some swift pictures,from the position in horrocks hidelooking,towards the south bankas there were thousands of em at 6.30, but failed misseribly,got one out of about 50.the 2 male wigeon were still at the front of the screen,can't seem to see any nesting great crested grebe.seems strange to me as loads used to nest at the flash.
Hi John, I was there from about 1.45- 5.30 must've missed you. It was a bit of a wash out from Horrocks. Did see Little Ringed sitting on nest from Teal hide hopefully these will be ok. A few Whitethroats showing really well(still no leser for me) a cracking Reed Warbler and a Male Pochard with the Tufties from New hide. Took some pics from Horrocks not loaded them up yet if they're any good may send some to Ian.
JUST BEEN ON PENNY FOR MY USUAL FRIDAY AFTERNOON -4-6.30-THE WET WEATHER HAS MORE OR LESS RUINED THE POINT AREA FOR THE TIME BEING,ALL THE MUD AT THE FRONT OF HORROCKS HIDE UNDER ABOUT 10 FEET OF WATER,THE AREA WERE THE RINGED AND LITTLE RINGED WERE NESTING ALSO UNDER WATERSO THEY HAVE LOST THIER NESTS,THE LAPWING CHICKS WERE ON A SMALL ISLAND.SO IF ANYONE WAS PLANNING TO GO TOMORROW FOR WADERS FORGET IT THERES NO-WERE FOR THEM TO GO.ANYWAY HERE GOAS LITTLE RINGED PLOVER-3(1 FRONT OF NEW HIDE,2 TEAL HIDE) REDSHANK-2,SWIFT 2000+(WHEN I LEFT) SEDGE WARBLER-2,WHITETHROAT,BLACKCAP,GARDEN WARBLER-1,PLUS ALL THE USUAL STUFF
