RE: Timperley

Mike/Henry
I had one here in Nov 2009 seen on a couple of days. Also had a Med Gull in 2008.
This bird is completely white on the back with no black primaries at all. Couldn't make out leg and bill colour but I remember the 2009 bird had much paler legs and bill. I'll look out for it again next week.

Very interesting Steve, i've seen what must surely be the same bird in the large roost at Rostherne twice in the last 3 weeks. Not surprising really given the proximity, but i wonder where the Med Gulls which are seen there spend their day time - i've looked for them in big flocks of BHGs following ploughs in the area without success, so maybe they're just passing through. What else must pass though then.. Also saw the leucistic BHG last winter which suggests it's quite site faithful.

Edit: cross post with Henerz.

Interesting sighting Steve. A single leucistic bird has been regular at the Rostherne gull roost again this autumn, probably the same one.

22/08/2011 - Recieved a report of a probable Lesser Spotted Woodpecker heard calling in Fairywell Wood this afternoon. This isn't far, as the pecker flys, from the Wythenshawe/Northenden territory but it would be nice to think it is more locally resident in the Timperley/Hale Barns area.

Hobby

One just watched from upstairs back window as it flew over the field at the end of the garden from east to west.
Field's located between Fairywell Wood and Brooks Drive just south of the housing on Whitebeam & Alder Drives. Didn't look like it was stopping though!
House, Timperley & Alty tick! Wonder where me list is.
