Geoff - you don`t have to go to `lobby gobbler` land for Chiffchaff. If you can tear yourself away from the Smew there`s plenty around `the` flashes !

ian,will have to visit pennington for the chifchaff i can,t find on wigan flashes
(would help to look properly ) been to doctors about my neck problem apparently i,ve got woosey syndrome

My regular full circuit of Pennington Flash this morning (before it got really windy and dulled over!) revealed 14 singing Chiffchaffs. Also present was a Little Ringed Plover on Teal Scrape, which had buggered off before I got there and (apparently) 19 Oysterctachers and 15 or so Redshank, although I didn't count them myself as being stuck in the hide meant I would have missed that Osprey/Red Kite had one or indeed both bothered to have the common courtesy to fly over, which of course they didn't
