Jimmy I was out to yesterday - like spring! I too had a couple of pairs of Lapwings displaying and a Great Spotted drumming, but no Skylarks. Also Buzzard display and GC Grebes in similar mood. Jay, Nuthatch., Dipper, Tree Sparrow and Kingfisher - all Arley Woods/Worhtington Lakes.

4 little grebe  on whitley res ,kingfisher on mesnes park
1 water rail at red seas 1 goosander 26 teal lots missing due to fishermen
2 lesser redpoll at crooke also still at the marina is the chloe wigeon (escapee }pity about that but still a nice bird to see
6 lapwings and 4 skylarks displaying at challenge way early for them 
6 bullfinch at giants hall plus 2 calling willow tits 
and at standish hall farm area 7 jays and 3 singing skylarks 
nothing really special but a good day local birding
