Went and had a quick walk this morning as my little lad was asleep and the wife was busy.
I live 2 minutes from the woods/fields and used to play on there all the time when I was a kid. If I go out, it's usually to Pennington or Clifton Country park. But going to make this a new and regular patch.

I've just spent the last 30minutes watching a Blue Tit who seems determined to get into my shed for some reason.
It must have concussion the number of times it's bounced off the window!!
Any clues as to why??
1 green woodpecker -in tree and then on the ground near brook
7 goldfinches - in tree on alder with 4 siskins
5 blackbird - in tree
6 greenfinch - on my peanuts (well 2 of them)
Just seen 20+ waxwings in Hulme this evening minutes after I'd seen a willow warbler! They were busy feeding in a sycamore - must have been getting insects. Is this a record? Simon
