26/7 Kenworthy 9.30pm 1 Grasshopper warbler from Kenworthy Lane opposite Orchard 7 Jays 2 Herons 7+ Pipistrelle and 1 fox 1 female GSW and at least 1 immature seen daily visiting gardens adjacent to the Mersey Still no Kestrels this week - the better half spotted 1 dead on southbound carriageway of the parkway just past McDonalds early Sunday morning. Tonight a neighbour reported one in a garden on Merseybank having a go at a Starling - suppose it's possible but mistaken identity is more likely.
1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling at Barlow Tip this evening several immature Whitethroats there 2 Sedge Warbler Kenworthy 1 Kingfisher 2 Reed Warbler in song still

Reed Warbler - 2 singing in reedbed. The right hand bird does some excellent mimicry with its Bearded Tit and Reed Bunting especially impressive (unless there were Bearded Tit and Reed Bunting in there as well??? ).
Siskin - 7 flew over Barlow calling and then flew over me again at NW corner of lake near Bullfinch sign.
1 ridiculously large immature Buzzard in field at top of Coppice trail (Kenworthy). Very pale underneath plenty of other pale feathers mixed in elsewhere. Took off towards the parkway 1 very noisy female Kestrel - same field perched up on pylon. 2 Heron - same field 3 Bullfinch from Gropper Hill 5 Whitethroat 3 Jays 30+ Swift plenty of young Wrens and Dunnocks in raspberry canes.
Probably 1 young Whitethroat less this evening thanks to large female Kestrel over Kenworthy at 7.15pm. Took off in direction of the tip. Plenty of Swifts and House Martins around. Also 2 Sand Martins. No sign of either Gropper Good to know the Grey Wagtails have had a good season. Only seen the 2 young so far. River almost went over the lower path last night - incredible for late June.
2 Sedge Warblers in song by 'gropper hill', Kenworthy, also immature Whitethroats A single Kingfisher reported by fishermen on recent mornings 6 juv Grey Wagtails on the river bank recently, two watched being fed by the adult male last week

14/6 - Kenworthy 40+ House Martins 30+ Swift 6 Whitethroat 1 Reed Bunting 1 Sedge Warbler 3 Great peckers (1f + 3 immature) 2 young Grey Wagtails 0 Gropper
And has anyone reported a Hobby in the area? Thought I saw one on Sunday directly over the Mersey at 7pm heading downstream but no bins on me. Again tonight at 7.50pm same location - in the rain!
Thought I was the subject of a wind-up at work yesterday when I found a photograph with a name and contact number in my pigeon-hole. I chased it up, met the guy, who seems genuine and on the level and brought me more photographs :
A moblie flock of about 30 Black-tailed Godwits were observed flying around the lake by Mr Robin Finch, sometime between 15.00 and 15.30 on 30th May. A series of photographs were taken on full zoom using a Canon 350D with a Stigma 70-300 lens, one showing 24 birds in the frame. All have sky as the background. The direction of their departure was not noticed.
Otherwise: 1 Goosander and 1 Kingfisher on 5th June. 3-4imm Grey Wagtail together on the bank of the River Mersey and a male Sparrowhawk over on 7th June. 1 Kingfisher on 8th June.
