Met Bill Oddie about 35/40 years ago when he presented us with a prize for winning a Birdwatch magazine national birdrace. This was at the Birdfair . Other 3 members of the team were Adam Davison,Jeff Clarke and John Gregory we get a cheque for £500 pounds which we presented to Lancs Wildlife Trust. Used to love him in the Goodies,great zany humour and really funny.
Big part of my childhood too Chris. First with The Goodies then all the birding stuff he did, he always made it easy to listen to and understand. My Dad was also a big fan of Bill Oddie, and we both liked Tony Soper too!
RIP Bill, loved him when he did the watches on the BBC and any other programs he did on bird watching.
He had a special liking for swallows and the journey they make each year and always gave them a special mention.
