I couldn't find a thread for this...........a small compact reserved section of land in between the warehouses on the South Side of the Manchester Ship Canal opposite Fiddlers Ferry.
Went to bed early last night specifically so I could be down here for 5am to hear the dawn chorus (and thus slept through the rest of my household watching the Aurora......doh).
I go here a couple of time a year around now taking my blind bird listening companion as in such a small space, usually a good number of warblers can be heard. Today was no different, species heard:
Whitethroat - 2
Lesser Whitethroat - 1
Grasshopper Warblers - 2
Reed Warbler - 2/3
Chiffchaff - 11
Willow Warbler - 3
Blackcap - 2
Sedge Warbler -1
Cuckoo over to the North of the Ship Canal
Great and Blue Tits
Chaffinch
Curlew
Carrion Crow
Blackbird, Song and Mistle Thrushes
Herring Gull
Edited to add - we never heard Cetti's Warbler, a strange day.
