Spending a few days in Scotland.

First stop Ayr

Friday 14 June

After a damp morning the weather cleared and I went to the harbour. On the way I saw a pair of Stonechat which were feeding a brood deep in a large clump of Marram grass.

At the harbour there were good numbers of Black Guillemot, which nest under the bridge near Aldi. Also several Sandwich Tern were flying out to feed and then presumably back to their nesting site.

Also in the area good numbers of Shag were present and a few Gannet feeding quite close in

Day at Ardmore Point today, a regular spot. About a half hour walk from Cardross railway station.
