RE: Greater Manchester declares a Biodiversity Emergency

Interestingly, the Biodiversity Emergency in Greater Manchester actually got a mention at the Oldham Business Breakfast at Oldham Events Centre, Boundary Park.

That's the first time I've heard the Biodiversity Emergency mentioned at a business conference.

In March/April 2022, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) declared a Biodiversity Emergency in the city region, and Council leaders also signed the Edinburgh Declaration.

There are a number of online articles on Business Growth Hub, Marketing Stockport, Green Intelligence, The Planner and the GMCA website.

Local patch birders are very important field ecologists and we often see ecological changes such as population decline before we read the reports such as "State of Nature".

Just wondering what local birders make of the declaration of a Biodiversity Emergency in Greater Manchester, and what the practical results of this might be.
