Objections can still be sent in for the proposed motorway Service station ,that will devastate the Eastern arable area at Silver Lane pools . The Service station which in reality is pretty pointless as there is already one a few miles west at Birchwood, would devastate a great greenbelt , farmland area, were there is a wetland area that contains both large numbers of Common Snipe in winter and smaller numbers of Jack Snipe. The site is also home in winter of almost 400 Skylark , 200 linnet, Merlin and Peregrine,Pink Footed Geese along with other fairly uncommon farmland birds such as Corn Bunting.
