My first Blackcap (female) of the year arrived yesterday. A day earlier than last years first arrival.
I have a pair a of Goldcrests being seen regularly each day, and a female Bullfinch was also a good bird to see last week.
A pair of Robins are taking nesting material to a Mahonia bush, while there are many pairs of other species just waiting to get started. Hopefully I will track them down once they start nest building.

A pair of Redwings this morning was a bonus. A flock of 10 Long-tailed Tits moved through with a Treecreeper and a Goldcrest.
A Wren displayed some unusual behaviour when it disappeared down the grate of a drain. I've seen it do this before and always have to wait to make sure it comes back up. It does, and I guess it is picking insects off the drain wall or moss that may be down there.

This last week I've noticed the Blue Tits and Great Tits pairing up or paired up. There was a highest count of 7 Long-tailed Tits on one feeder with a pair of Goldcrests also seen most days. In prior weeks I had only seen singles.
I've also noticed the Song Thrush singing at 6am or earlier each morning. Nice to think that Spring is on the way, even of we still have some winter to get through first.

A Treecreeper this afternoon was a real bonus. Only seen a handful from the window here in 8 years.

My lounge looks out onto some lawn, with Hawthorn, Dogwood and various bushes surrounding it. Trees are mainly Silver Birch and Sycamore with some Pine and Spruce trees.

Yesterday I had 9 Redwings, which were the first of the winter and not regular visitors. A Goldcrest flitting around the trees seems to be coming a more frequent visitor of late.
