I would be up for it in 2020 - when I plan to be around Gtr Manchester for most of the month.
Though I wasn't specifically doing the challenge, I appear (from my iRecord and Bordtrack records), to have recorded the following, during a 7 day period
Birds: 61 Species Mammals: 1 Butterfly: 2 Moth: 2 Fungi: 2 species (which I haven't managed to identify) Insect: 1 species
Hi James ,
That's a great effort. Well done . I hadn't heard of that Challenge but it sounds good fun the way you did it not using a car and staying in GM.. Think that's something I'll plan for next year .
Thanks for the info .
Just wondering if any other birders have ever done the Lancashire Wildlife Trust 30 days wild in June and kept a record of the number of species.
It's a big challenge that I managed to complete in June 2019, recording 100+ bird species, covering all the ten Greater Manchester boroughs and mostly on foot, bicycle or public transport (with just one car journey, in "Greater Bolton" with Phil Rhodes) to keep it green!
Also, looking to the future, is anyone planning to do 30 days wild in June 2020
