Signed it Steve, and pleased to do so!

(As if we havent already lost miles of hedgerows across the UK without greedy numbskull developers adopting this action).

Cheers,

Mike P.

Must admit that I wasn't aware that developers put netting on hedgerows to prevent birds from nesting. Clearly this must be much more cost effective than paying an ecologist to carry out a bird nesting check prior to removal of a hedgerow and avoids the possibility of having to delay a development for four weeks whilst a bird incubates eggs and the young fledge. As they say time is money.

Anyway, I've signed the petition which has already reached 337,019 signatures and runs until 18th September 2019. You may also like to sign it

Make "netting" hedgerows to prevent birds from nesting a criminal offence
