Breeding Wetland Birds Workshop - Woolston Eyes

Due to last minute cancellations there a couple of places available on the Breeding Wetland Birds Survey Workshop taking place this Saturday at Woolston Eyes SSSI.
The workshop is being run to train volunteers who wish to take part in the Carbon Landscape Citizen Science Project survey which will monitor our breeding wildfowl at wetlands across the Carbon Landscape

The survey will complement BTO WeBS counts by collecting breeding information on wetland species including Pochard and Shoveler. The data will be shared with the GM Bird Recording Group, the Rare Breeding Birds Panel and the Local Record Centres in GM and Cheshire.

This is a great opportunity to improve/refresh your wildfowl and other wetland birds ID skills, benefit from the many year's survey experience of the Woolston Eyes Conservation Group's volunteers and also access the best areas of the reserve which are normally restricted to permit holders only.

Booking is essential as places are limited: To reserve your place please email carbonlandscape@gmwildlife.org.uk or telephone 0161 342 4121 if you would like more information.

If you are interested in supporting the conservation of key species across the Carbon Landscape through biological recording, information on the other surveys which cover bitterns, dragonflies, farmland birds, plants, water voles and willow tits, and how to take part, can found on the Greater Manchester Local Record Centre's website
