Hi John,
I've had an FZ1000 since January and I've found it absolutely fine, with some limitations, and it's probably the closest you can get to a DSLR with a mirrorless
bridge camera. The 25-400 (35mm eq) lens covers most situations and the auto-focus works well for birds in flight although the electronic manual focus takes
some getting used to. The 1'' sensor can give you really decent shots although, as with most cameras, good light is always helpful. The electronic viewfinder is
is also very good.
If you want a camera for record shots and, given the right conditions, decent quality shots I'd recommend it.
I'm also sending you a pm.

Cheers Tony

Does anyone out there own this model? If so I would be interested to hear your opinions on its suitability for bird photography.

Cheers John
