we are meeting up Tuesday morning 16th, 10 am to litter pick if you wish or just attend for a chat about were we go from here and if we can get some work done safely
At last, we have got some work done in the Teal hide scrape, Geoff had the trees cut down with the chainsaw gang and we moved them to the back fence line to create a huge bund which will serve as a barrier against unauthorised access and a refuge/nesting area for birds. The picture doesn't show it but the dead hedge is about 40 feet long and 5 feet high. Our thanks to Mr M King Green Spaces Manager (East&Central) for supplying us with safety wear. Another visit should complete the job then visitors can view the area to the far left. which often holds un-noticed species. Sincere thanks to the gang who put it a good shift.
Hi Volunteers, Tuesday is the day 9-30 car park near the centre , I have parking passes. We will be removing birch saplings from an area near the lagoon on the ruck overlooking the flash. it's a good butterfly area but is being overgrown with trees. Loppers and bow saws please, if you can bring your own it would help. Pengy's Hide work postponed.
We will be giving some of our time to the Bickershaw site
