I have just put a binocular in the Manager's Specials Sale Cabinet that is a superb optic and is now reduced to a silly price. This is a one-off, and a chance to grab a real bargain
The binocular in question is the Leica Duovid 8+12x42 Binocular, an optic that I have personal experience of, it showed it's worth when I was out birding a few years ago! I was birding around Ashton's Flash with a mate when we spotted a wader out in the middle, unfortunately roosting with its head on its back. Neither of us had a scope and with my 8x42 bins I just couldn't decide between Curlew and Whimbrel. My mate had the Leica Duovids and was using them at 8x mag. He too couldn't decide definitively on the species. So he switched the bins up to the 12x mag and we both used them. Using the extra power we could both see a central crown stripe even though the head was partially obscured - bingo, a Whimbrel!
This is the beauty of this binocular, you can switch up to 12x from 8x when you need a bit of oomph! It isn't a zoom binocular, being an 8x OR a 12x (but unofficially you can get intermediate powers even though Leica don't advertise it as such!).
The Duovids have an RRP of £2130 but this pair are now available for £525 less at only £1605.
Once they are gone then this will never be repeated, so take the chance now to come and have a look at these bins, if you don't want to carry a scope and tripod then this may be the solution
