Question, when you log in, you get options to edit, quoat and reply to your own posts. But what ever happened to the delete option as if someone in error posts on the wrong subject (not saying I've done this recently) but there is no way to correct that error themselves that I can see?
Thanks.

Just had a read of this and it was very amusing. As someone who has been trying to get into gulls for my entire birding career, I have to take my hats off to you both for the dedication.

I really enjoyed reading it as it brought back some fantastic memories for me,really miss the place. Couple of things spring to mind that Ian didn't mention, one was the guy who came down there one day looking for a Glowshush Gull(pronounce the glow the same as "how"),certainly wasn't any there and he went away disapointed but gave us a good laugh. Whenever someone turned up looking for Caspian Gull who wasn't a gullers, but just after a tick I always managed to steer them towards Ian, who would then spend 10 minutes or more trying to explain to someone who hadn't got a clue what a Caspian Gull looked like, where the bird was. The tone of his voice inevitably got more and more frustrated and then eventually angry, whilst I would be almost falling out of my chair trying to contain my laughter . That's when the inevitable question arose,is it next to a crow !!! Happy days
For anyone who misses Richmond Bank and its gulls, or indeed is bored enough to be bothered, there's a short and slightly unconventional view of its hedonistic days, on the 'Gone Birding' pages of the website.
The recently added scrolling strip of graphics at the website homepage (showing when different bits were updated) is really useful and also looks great
Wow. This is going to turn me back into a birder!! I am excited to see a 'taster' photo of my California trip heading the tour report page. Hope it makes it into print.
Can I add my thanks for the welcome return of the main website, the new platform looks great. I didn't notice the old 'Systematic County Bird List' on the new site, even as a work in progress. Understandable if this is going to be dropped because it must be hard to keep updated. Some of the historic records were interesting though.
Its worked fine for me every time ,I've not used the main page link ,I have just been using the Back to Manchester birding website link on the left top of the Forum, then when there ,if you add to favourites in your browser, you have a permanent shortcut to the main site then. :)
I'm guessing Ian is 'fiddling' just now as I can't get on from my laptop or mobile, and it worked fine from my mobile before. What I saw looked excellent. Looking forward to a good mooch around when its back up again.

Please note that the NEW Manchester Birding website is now up and running at www.manchesterbirding.com as usual.
You will have to clear your caches etc from your computers as otherwise it'll just take you to the old site which is no longer there but when you find the new site you'll know it . Obviously it looks at its best on a computer screen but will automatically reform for mobile 'phones and has all the information the desktop version does.
It is, as it says in the 'what's new', very much a work in progress and I've decided to publish it anyway as much of the information from the old site is already on there, plus there's no point me just fiddling with it on my laptop; I might as well fiddle with it and update it as I go so please bear with any changes and sections not yet completed etc.
Anyway, please give it a look and get back into the habit of checking it as regularly as you used to; it will only get better...
That's a shame, so much work has gone into that part of the site it makes me sad to think of all that information and moving it to another location, it makes my brain hurt thinking about the task ahead, sorry to read about this.

Did you see it? It was small and brown and flew that way.........................
I have text Ian, and it may not be a quick fix, in fact the website and forum are on different servers, dont know what the full answer is going to be, sort cuts like getting onto the forum should be forwarded to all your mates
Yes had the same problem taking me to what next 123 supaname hosting closure, when trying manchesterbirding.com , so have had to get on by using manchesterbirding.activeboard in my search engine. Has made me realise how much I enjoy the sight. Cheers Steven
