You've a good memory, Dave.

The Ringed Plover seen at Pennington Flash in May 1996 was 18 years and 22 days + however old it was when ringed as an adult.

The current record holder is a Norfolk bird at 19 years 8 months 19 days (also ringed as an adult)

I don't have a good memory - all this is from the BTO webpages as well smile

For a while the oldest known Ringed Plover was a bird ringed at Walney Island as an adult bird and which was then present for a while at Pennington Flash, at the age of 18 years plus a few months (can't remember exactly), back in either 1995 or 1996. I'm fairly sure that's been exceeded since by a bird elsewhere.

Ringed Full-grown 15-03-1972 Denton: 53°27'N 2°7'W (Greater Manchester)
Dead 01-08-1981 Hyde: 53°27'N 2°3'W (Greater Manchester) 5km 9y 4m 17d
