RE: Willow Tit surveying in Mersey Valley

Hello all - just to clarify here - all records should continue to be submitted to Ian through whichever mechanism you usually use!

Our work is in addition to the recording system - and we will make sure any records we generate are submitted to Ian too

Hi all

We (Red Rose Forest) are about to do a survey of Willow Tits in the Trafford section of the Mersey Valley. We are going to be using the RSPB-approved tape-lure method, at possible WT habitats at
Sale Water Park
Kickety Brook
Urmston Meadows
Banky Meadows
Wellacre Country park (Flixton)

I am keen we don't use the method at sites where other people are using it to record WTs so that the birds expend the minimum energy at nesting time.

I know Paul H is doing Kickety so we will leave that one, but I would be very grateful if people could let me know if they are already surveying any of these sites. If you are, we would love to hear from you directly rather than waiting for the records to appear via GMLRC, and assessing the habitat at the precise location of records is part of the project.

private message me or email mike@redroseforest.co.uk

cheers

Mike
