Hi Paul,

Yes this is happening to me too and has been for a number of days now. Sorry I'd not seen this thread earlier. I've not received any emails probably since Friday or Saturday.
Not sure if it's my phone (Iphone) or a general problem.

There is a box to tick, for e - mails.
It's just below the box you post in....

It's not the text alerts I am talking about. It's the subscribing to individual threads. The site normally sends me an email when anyone adds a comment to the Elton thread because I am subscribed to that thread

If you mean subscription to the Mancy Text alerts that some of us pay £10 per year to get alerts? I don't think the Mancy text alerts are automatically generated in any way by posts on threads ,its reliant in the first instance of someone texting Ian who will then send a text out to anyone who subscribes to the text alerts. I am not sure Text alerts ever go out for Yellow legged Gulls as there are that many mistaken identity ones that to put an alert out for many to travel to then find its a dark herring gull or Light Lessser Black backed gull,it would be frustrating as Ian would get the flac for not confirming the sighting ,which he cannot do on his own as there is a greater Manchester rarities committee for that purpose. I think Ian can confirm that probably a large percentage of yellow legged gulls that get reported ,never actually get submitted as a rarities form and many that do get rejected.
The Iceland Gull at Penny yesterday I would have expected a text alert but didn't get one, as I was just leaving just before it was seen and would have turned back ,but I am not sure were the line is drawn with what gets sent out as one of the posts yesterday mention Iceland gull had been at Heaton park roosts for weeks now ,but that hasn't been reported.
Ian can't be expected to watch every post on every thread then send it out, normally once its posted by someone else its already out there. And it Xmas ,Ian has his own personal stuff to do as we all do at this time of year.
We only contribute £10 to the text alerts per year, which in the end goes an a small way towards various things to keep this site going, its done me proud in the last few years.
That my take any way
cheers John
smile

Is it just me, or is anyone else no longer receiving email alerts to threads they have subscribed to? I missed a possible YL Gull at Elton yesterday because I got NO email alerts to any of the posts to the Elton thread.
