The Greater Manchester Local Record Centre are running two MapMate training sessions this autumn from Chorlton Water Park.

MapMate for Beginners

-> Installation and configuration (done prior to the session with support)
-> Applying patches (done prior to the session with support)
-> Entering records
-> Editing and deleting records
-> Locking fields for quick data entry
-> Preventing duplicate record entry
-> Applying filters
-> Quick queries and custom queries
-> Using the inbuilt query library
-> Copying data to Excel
-> Exchanging records via synchronisation
-> Backups, snapshots and disaster recovery
-> Importing ordnance survey base layers
-> Creating basic species atlases

Advanced MapMate

-> Introduction to SQL and the MapMate data model
-> Types of queries
-> Simple SELECT query
-> Joining multiple tables
-> Filtering records using WHERE
-> Spatial filtering
-> Understanding the OS National Grid
-> Bounding box query
-> Radial buffer query
-> Prompting the user for input
-> Sorting results
-> Summarising data (aggregation)
-> Pivot tables
-> Custom filters
-> Creating a base map using MapMate's inbuilt layers
-> Custom atlases
