Welcome John. I see from your profile that you live in Bolton - not many bird hides round there I'm afraid - the Bunting Hide at Pennington is usually pretty good for close-up finches and tits and, occasionally, woodpecker and nuthatch. Rumworth can be decent if you get yourself sat low down and quiet. Elton Res is hard work for photography - there's just nowhere to hide! But, it's a good place to enjoy a few hours walking round.

I have just joined the forum. My name is John and i live near the Manchester area. My main hobbies are photography and wildlife. I took up photography about 2 years ago so i still have a lot to learn but that is all part of the fun.
I joined the forum to hopefully find some good local bird hides so if anyone knows any that would be great.
