Just a bit of fun. . Is anyone going to get a photograph of the Pennington flash Cetti's warbler bird?
I know there are lots of good photographers on here on no one has manged a photo of this skulker. Its fantastically stayed with us for ages now but still no photo? Good luck. Someones got to get lucky and get a shot of this great site bird.
I don't think it exists! It's a figment of our collective imaginations Four flippin hours ive spent down there now and apart from a glimpse of something that might have been it....nothing! When someone does get a photo please include some background to prove its actually a Cettis at Pennington!

I totally agree with all opinions here. I should of been more clear. Big respect to anyone who get a photo of this skulker using luck and patience only. Sit down low by the leaning posts and with a bit luck and loads of patience

Of course, the initial point of the thread was for who gets the first photo of the bird and as long as it's taken from he usual places along the path where the hordes of Joe Public also accesses too then no harm can come. I look forward to even a crappy (but identifiable) photo quite frankly
Excellent shout out. I hate the thought of recordings to get birds all in a tizz over nothing. Patience and good fieldcraft is the key and the welfare of the bird everytime. Nice one.
I'm sure I need not say this but if anyone on this forum has been tape luring the Cetti's in an attempt to get a better view then I'd be pretty disappointed (to put it mildly). So please, if you can't see the harm in it and intend to do so in the future, do let me know so you can be removed from the forum; selfish attitudes to birding like that we can do without.
Have a think about what the result of a male Cetti's on territory might do/think if he's continually challenged by another male which he can't seem to deter.
Very close to claiming the prize Den today ,when it sat on a branch singing, only to be chased off before I got the camera up ,by the local Robin :) But to be honest from now on its probably better not to try to photograph it and I would ask everyone ,seriously not to use their phones etc with the calls on to try to attract it as we have potentially a good chance that the way its singing it may attract a mate, so we need to be very careful not to disturb the singing bird as much as is possible along that path, better to stay to the main path, like I did today.
