Sorry if you already know this but....

If you are writing an objection make sure you find the relevant bits in the most recent local plan and quote the councils own policies back at them. It's miles better than just objecting because 'it's part of a country park'. You'll normally find three or four policies with relevant bits in. Just bear in mind there's likely to be three or four that they can use to justify it as well! Is it an officially designated country park, or just a c.p. by name? Designated country parks (used to, not sure about now) have more protection. Councils also have special duties under the NERC act which they often forget about.

Hope that helps.

I read in the Stockport Times about plans to build on part of the green belt at Reddish Vale Country Park.
Labour seem to be supporting 'limited use of the greenbelt' to achieve this.
Two petitions have beenset up, one at the Vale, the other in Brinnington, to oppose this.
I wonder who we can write to to object to these proposals?
If anyone knows, can they please let me know, or better still let the forum know so a few more can try to save this part of the Country Park.
Thanks
Chris H
