Preston Brook

I heard a possible Iberian Chiffchaff singing constantly at lunch time between St Gobain Isover UK Whitehouse industrial estate Preston Brook WA73DP and the DHL building at the back of St Gobain Car park -unfortunately its in an area with no access whatsoever  8 feet electric fence around that area so no chance of seeing it .and was moving in a easterly direction at the back of DHL along a row of tall trees when last heard at 13.30.It was in full song for most of my Lunch Half hour.

My usual lunchtime mooch round our factory perimeter in Preston Brook gave me a nice Male White Wagtail,2 Chiffchaff in song , an Oystercatcher calling over distant fields,2 Raven on the roof of the factory being harrassed by 4 Jackdaws and 2 Magpies. Also a pair of Bullfinch and a pair of Mallard around our car park and finished off with 5 Goldfinch landing in the trees at the entrance.
Yesterday also had a pair of Long Tailed Tits collecting Nest Material in the hedge between our Factory and the next one .
Just goes to show you can birdwatch any patch of land, even on the biggest industrial estate in Runcorn, and all I have to go at is a few perimeter trees and a concrete factory surround.

Another walk around the Preston Brook area, starting and finishing at the Tunnel Top pub (great food and beer!), we saw 10+ Skylark (moving south), 1 Grey Wagtail, 6 Pied Wagtails, 1 Wheatear and 3 Chiffchaffs.
