The 1983 Isles of Scilly trip Report by John Rayner :
What a good read. Informative, amusing and the suspense really gets to you as the boat Captain, with shaking hands, has to press the red emergency button. But don't forget Nick, we are told that it's never the ''Scilly Isles''

I agree Henry. I really enjoyed reading it. Ive visited The Scilly Isles before on a family holiday but never on a birding mission. Something I really hope to do one day.
Just wanted to say John Rayner's recently added 1983 Isles of Scilly trip report makes for a great story and well worth a read for anyone who has or hasn't been yet to the islands.
You picked a good year to go for your first visit John! My first year only had a couple of scarce pipits and no real rarities but the allure and beauty of the place still got me hooked. In further visits it has since produced some massive rarities so is making it up to me rapidly!
