RE: Queen's Park, Bolton (other wildlife)

Overcast conditions did not help on an insect search. No butterflies, only one moth (Silver-ground Carpet), one bumblebee (White-tailed), and a few Common Pond Skaters.

I turned my attention to wild flowers :-
Bistort, Bluebell (just about finished), Broad-leaved Dock, Broad-leaved Willowherb, Bush Vetch, Common Cleavers, Cow Parsley, Cuckoo Flower, Creeping Buttercup, Daisy, Dandelion, Garlic Mustard, Germander Speedwell, Gorse, Green Alkanet, Ground Elder, Hemlock Water Dropwort, Herb Bennet, Herb Robert, Hogweed, Japanese Knotweed, Meadow Buttercup, Pink Purslane, Red Campion, Redshank, Rhododendron, Ribwort Plantain, Welsh Poppy, Wild Turnip, Yellow Iris.

At least a dozen Grey Squirrels. At the main lodges you are tripping over them, not helped by a girl feeding them treats.

2 Brown Hawkers
1 Common Hawker
1 Common Darter

1 Green-veined White
1 Small White
4 Small Tortoiseshells
1 Peacock
4 Speckled Woods
