Leigh Ornithological Society

As you will know from the Manchester Birding Website, well-known forum member and superb photographer Dennis Atherton is giving a presentation talk with photos to the Leigh Ornithological Society about his trip to the Gambia. The talk is this Friday (21st September) at 7:15pm in Leigh Library and there is a nominal door charge for non-members of only £2.

The full indoor and outdoor programme for the LOS and other county birding groups and organisations are (and always have been) on the 'Clubs, Societies and Recording Groups' page of the Manchester Birding website

Just seen on facebook that Alan Davies is going to be giving a talk on Sri Lanka tonight as well. I might come along.

Leigh Ornithological Society will be holding it's first meeting and presentation this year on Friday 7 September in the Derby Room at Leigh Library from 7:15pm onwards. Entrance on the door is just £2 for non-members or a measly £10 for a full year's membership! Come and join us!

Full details and directions are available here on the updated website: Leigh Ornithological Society. Our very own Dennis Atherton will be giving a presentation talk on his Gambia trip (I'm sure you've seen his excellent photos) in a couple of weeks.

I've also dug out this video on The Making of Pennington Flash (from the 1980's) for the website as well as the one about Twitchers originally shown on the BBC. Why not have a look?
