Did you see it? It was small and brown and flew that way.........................
Leigh Ornithological Society (LOS or LeighOS) are having a trip to Spurn on Sunday 2nd September. They meet in Doctor's Nook car park over the road and in front of Leigh Library at 7:00am and buddy up to share cars / petrol. They're a really friendly bunch and I'm sure you could join them and find a seat here. I'm gutted because the trip was originally on the 9th, but it's only recently been moved to the 2nd when I can't go due to family commitments.
All the necessary details as well as the full 2012-13 programme of talks and fieldtrips are on the new LOS website here (which I'm currently redeveloping for them).
Hope this helps, Martyn
(Please note the new website is on a temporary address whilst I'm setting it up and it will revert to the correct LOS address when finished)

Thanks for your responses I'll look into it in more detail. I know there is a bus on Sundays which runs to spurn, but during the week I think it's withernsea or easington. I'll check it out in more detail, might give it some proper planning and head to flamborough tomoro instead for now! Thanks for the info!
A mate of mine used to get the train to Hull, then a bus to Easington. From there I'm not sure. Theres some info on the web - spurnbirdobservatory.co.uk, and I'm sure if you rang the Obs they'd be able to give you some info!

Not a great deal of help, I'm afraid, as I don't have any details, but there was definately a bus to/from Spurn. Picked up just along from the Blue Bell crossroads towards Kilnsea. They ran into early evening at least, as we were chatting to a birder waiting to catch it when a Barn Owl flew along the top edge of the Triangle. Definately worth a 'buses to Spurn Point' google I'd say
Hello, I don't think it's possible but I was looking into going to spurn on Wednesday by public transport from Manchester. Does anyone know if it's remotely possible? Thanks in advance Kevin
