Just thought I'd let you know that the bird was found this morning. She was a bit wet and a bit bedraggled but she's ok. She hadn't gone far, she was on the by-pass just behind the boathouse in the tall trees. My mate caught her with a keep net attached to a big pole.
Had a quick view of what I took to be a buzzard chasing off a much lighter buzzard over the warehouses at around 8am on the M62 junction at Risley this morning - can't be sure it was a Harris Hawk but it was very light in colour - sorry can't be more definitive but just in case it confirms any better sightings? There are pale buzzards in that area sometimes though - any photos of the missing bird in flight?

I'm not sure about pictures in flight Pete, I'll have to ask my pal. I suppose the distinguishing features would be a dark tail with a white tip and she was also wearing jesses. She is also quite big for a Harris hawk.
My friend has just texted me to tell me his 1 year old female Harris hawk flew from his garden last Thursday early evening around the boat house area of Irlam. She is quite a big bird and hasn't fully got her adult plumage so she's still quite light.
She could of gone anywhere, especially if she's gone over the canal towards Flixton/ Partington.
Any reports of sightings would be much appreciated.
